The first annual Legacy Ace Run held today at the Crane Creek course was a great success. We ended up with 28 enthusiastic disc golfers ready to tackle the “Aces Only” format. We, of course, offer a “modified Aces only” format with points being given for metal contact.
Thanks to the great turnout for the Lake Mendocino UFOS Pro Am Jam, the new baskets are in at the 9 hole Lake Sonoma course and it is open for play. Big thanks to Greg Goben and the guys for going up there and doing a great job. There is still some fine tuning to be done (and hopefully an expansion to 18 holes in the future). To check out the wishlist and todo list, follow the UFOS group conversations on Facebook.
A field of Lupens
Spring has come to Crane Creek and with it, a change to the weekly activities schedule. From now until mid October (when we will go to the Fall Schedule), we will be having the Handicap Singles League
on Tuesday afternoons beginning at 5 PM. Random Doubles
will move from Sunday to Wednesday afternoon at 5pm. The monthly Bag Tag Challenge will move to Sunday afternoon at 2pm.
There is a real possibility that this may be in the very near future. The UFOS have been requested to submit a proposal for an course to be built on the Sonoma County Parks extension of the Taylor Mountain preserve. If everything goes as planned, construction could begin as early as July.
