UFOS - United Flyers Of Sonoma

Founded in 1976 on the campus of Sonoma State University, the United Flyers of Sonoma (UFOS) Disc Golf Club is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of disc golf in the North Bay area, fostering a sense of community among disc golfers and supporting many worthwhile organizations in the area. Our members build for the future of the sport by designing and building new courses, introducing new players to the sport and providing the opportunity for them to come out and learn disc golf in a friendly, healthy and pleasurable environment. Our tournaments not only provide for competition at all levels of play, they provide funds for a number of charitable causes that benefit the community as a whole. Our weekly matches, held at various courses in the area, are actually mini-clinics in which anyone can come out to learn the sport or learn a few trick to improve their game. If you live in the North Bay area, you can join our club by attending the monthly club meeting, or showing up at one of the weekly matches. For further information, just drop us a line. We can put you in touch with someone who can hook you up. No wimps, no whiners…show up and ‘Support the Sport’.

A big thanks goes out to all the folks who came out to work at Taylor Mountain on Saturday. 8 tee pads got the rubber and edging installed, and we were done by 2pm thanks to the efforts of Brad Cameron, Noah Parker, Greg Campbell, Michael Cargile, Brendan Boylan, Jamieson Giffen, Brian Denn, Leify Greens, Daniel Murrieta, Frank Villas, Frankie Junior, Dave Lender, Lou Rethelford, Julia Murphy, Eddie Fitzsimmons, Tobi Grayson, Chris Sweet, and Parks Employee Cory. I hope I didn't forget anyone, I was all over the place and might have missed someone, or just plum forgot to write their name down! Also special thanks to Brandi Taylor for bringing us a bunch of snacks and drinks! Great job everyone, and thank you all so much for helping to get this course done! Go UFOS!

Thanks to Kevin , Steve , Jose and Jamieson for coming out to work at Taylor this afternoon, and sorry there wasn't more to do! But the good news is that we finished filling and tamping the last pad! Saturday we will begin installing the rubber and aluminum edging. The goal for now is to get the rubber down on 8 pads, then finish the last 9 next week.
