Discraft Releases J*Star 145 Gram Youth Ultimate Disc

In conjunction with the Ultimate Players Association, Discraft is proud to announce the J*Star (’JAY-star’) 145 gram youth Ultimate disc. The J*Star is the official youth Ultimate disc of the UPA for ages 12 and under. At 145 grams and 9.5 inches in diameter, the J*Star is 30 grams lighter and 1.25 inches smaller than the world’s leading Ultimate disc, the Ultra-Star. As a result, it is easier for young players to catch, throw and get better distance.

Doss Wins Second World Title

With a final drop in putt, California’s Nathan Doss became only the fourth player ever to win two Disc Golf World Championship Open titles. His first came in 2005. Doss defeated Sweden’s Markus Kallstrom by a single throw in Highbridge, Wisconsin. Finishing in third place was Cale Leiviska, with Mike Randolph in fourth.

Team Discraft Dominates MSDGC

Hot on the heels of his 3rd place finish at Worlds, Cale Leiviska outlasted teammate Geoff Bennett in a three-hole sudden death playoff to win the 2007 Marshall Street Disc Golf Championship. Bennett shot the lights out in the final round for a three-shot swing to catch the leader. Leiviska pockets a cool $5k for the weekend.

Doss Wins Again, Ascends To Number One

With his second NT win of the season at the Canadian Open, 2005 World Champ Nathan Doss has cemented his place as the top ranked disc golfer in the world, according to independent rankings published by Marshall Street Disc Golf. The bump also puts Doss into the number one slot for 2007 Player of the Year. He is the first player to displace Ken Climo from the top spot since the rankings were established two years ago.
