The 2008 Indian Summer Disc Festival was a great success this year. Held on the
weekend of October 4th at Sonoma State University, the North Bay home of Disc Golf,
we had participants in all areas of disc sports.

The ‘Mock 1? tournament (non-sanctioned)held at beautiful Browns ‘N Bows over the weekend of October 4, 2008, was a resounding hit. The tournament was a benefit for Steve Werner, long time UFOS member who was recently stricken with Cancer. In spite of the ‘monsoon’ that moved in the night of October 3rd, the turnout was actually pretty good. I believe we had 43 players and we raised a total of $1663 for Steve. This couldn’t have come at a better time because he just moved into a new apartment and this was a great help with moving expenses.

So I keep hearing thing like “We are working on getting a course at Crane Creek” from players and Stafford Rangers alike, as well as in the FAQ on this site, but does anybody know any details? Where it stands now, what we can do to help, what the timetable (if any) looks like? I heard that the baskets that used to be up there are still sitting around somewhere. True?
Steve has a new apartment in Rohnert Park! House warming (oh, well, apartment warming) gifts are always welcome. Congrats to Steve!

This year’s Indian Summer Festival is scheduled for October 4th and 5th. The flyers for the event are now available in both Word Indian Summer 2008 (Word) (100) and PDF Indian Summer 2008 (PDF) (96) format. There will be a Saturday night Pasta fundraiser for Steve Werner. - #Got back from the KOA Pro/Am Jam to find that the spammers had crashed our Forum. I am installing a new, more secure one, from the designers of Wordpress, itself. Until I find a way around it, you will have to log in to the new forum separately. The good news is that you can use the same signon and password for it. I am fine tuning it now so look for it in a couple of days.
