Good Week!
Last week was a fairly good week for Steve in terms of how he feels. He had been dehydrated from the treatments and that made him feel worse. He had a couple of hydration treatments last week and he felt good enough that he actually got out to the course to play. And he felt well enough to hang out at the river for one day. Of course, the back side of that was that there were no treatments last week, which, in terms of the disease, was a bad thing.
Wednesday will be the start of the radiation therapy, which will hopefully shrink the tumor. And Thursday, I believe, will start the weekly Chemo treatments. This is both good and bad. Good, because we want treatment. Without treatment there can be no improvement or chance of remission. Bad, because he is going to feel lousy again. Hopefully, because he will be receiving a weekly dose of Chemo instead of a full month spread over four straight days, the side effects won’t be as bad. It’s hard to see the good side of something when it makes you so incredibly sick. What the radiation will make him feel like is to be determined. This will be the first radiation treatment.
