Fun Day!
Big thanks to Steve’s former co-workers at North Bay Landscape. They took up a collection and sent him a box of bucks! <–more–>I know he hated leaving that job. It’s hard to leave when you like the people you work with. So thank you guys!
Slight correction on the previous post. True, Wednesday was the last radiation treatment in this go-round, but it turns out that the re-evaluation will come next Tuesday. Today the guys are at the SF Giants game. Good to see Steve is feeling this well. The radiation has definitely helped. He has gained back fifteen of the twenty-five pounds he had lost and the lab said his blood looks good! So, at least for now, he is holding his own and there should be nothing to prevent him from getting another round of treatments. This is really good news! Treatment has the best chance of working when it is given on a regular schedule. One of the most difficult things is when the side effects are severe enough that the schedule is impossible to stick to. Infections, anemia and the like, all force the lab to postpone treatment until the condition improves. It was a setback when the original chemotherapy plan proved to be more than Steve’s system could tolarate, but any plan that can be followed as scheduled is better than a more agressive one that can’t be adhered to. So…onward!
Buy me a beer!
